Elói Medeiros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rafinha Batista, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. After 28 minutes, Rodriguinho Cabral mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Galo na Veia FC™ and the S S Palestra Italia players grew even worse after the yellow card. Rodriguinho Cabral kicked well hit freekick during the 28th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Yuri Queiroz in the 41st minute of play forced S S Palestra Italia's goalkeeper Geovanni Vaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 44 minutes into the game, Rafinha Batista was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. S S Palestra Italia's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Galo na Veia FC™ the free kick. After a rather tough play, S S Palestra Italia's Rafinha Batista got a free kick in the 44th minute. Galo na Veia FC™'s Elói Medeiros proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 47th minute of the match, managed to save Galo na Veia FC™ from getting a goal against them. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carlos Eduardo de Amaral to strike the kick off in the second half. Elói Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from César Terra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Geovanni Vaz was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Carlos Eduardo de Amaral showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 59 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Yuri Queiroz in the 64th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geovanni Vaz saved S S Palestra Italia from getting behind. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Marquez during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 70 played minutes S S Palestra Italia got a freekick which was hit by Abel Marquez. In the 73rd minute Carlos Eduardo de Amaral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovanni Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 73 minutes into the match, Carlos Eduardo de Amaral had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Geovanni Vaz. S S Palestra Italia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Carlos Eduardo de Amaral was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Carlos Eduardo de Amaral recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 76th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Galo na Veia FC™'s Carlos Eduardo de Amaral got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. During the 81st minute of the match Abel Marquez completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Abel Marquez a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. With an all-out effort, Galo na Veia FC™'s Geovanni Vaz threw himself towards the right post 85 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carlos Eduardo de Amaral, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After 89 minutes Galo na Veia FC™'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Artur Pimenta who took care of the corner kick. S S Palestra Italia's Artur Pimenta was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Elói Medeiros in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Galo na Veia FC™'s supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
