S S Palestra Italia's Geovanni Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Severino Moura in the 4th minute of play. Geovanni Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Franklin Loureiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. César Terra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 7th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Geovanni Vaz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Flávio Branco went, in the 12th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. In the 17th minute, Durvalino Nóbrega hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 27th match minute, Florestal Futebol Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franklin Loureiro to maneuver through the defense. The supporters of S S Palestra Italia booed when Florestal Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafinha Cabral didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 31 minutes, Flávio Branco managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Florestal Futebol Clube's supporters crossed their fingers, but Flávio Branco was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Geovanni Vaz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flávio Branco, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Rafinha Cabral in the 37th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geovanni Vaz saved S S Palestra Italia from getting behind. After a rather tough play, S S Palestra Italia's Miguel Donatello got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 44th minute the ball was on its way in behind S S Palestra Italia's goalkeeper Geovanni Vaz, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Severino Moura scored 0-3 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Geovanni Vaz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Flávio Branco stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Geovanni Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Franklin Loureiro in the 62nd minute of the match. 64 minutes in the game, Rafinha Cabral fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Geovanni Vaz having to interfere. In the 73rd minute of the match, Flávio Branco tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Geovanni Vaz saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A collision led to S S Palestra Italia getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Mané Donatello hit a great ball. Florestal Futebol Clube made a substitution. Sávio Campos replaced Severino Moura. Mané Donatello kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Flávio Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovanni Vaz having to interfere. In the 84th minute Franklin Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovanni Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 85th minute, Caio Luz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Florestal Futebol Clube were awarded a corner in the 89th minute after S S Palestra Italia's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Flávio Branco took the corner. The corner went over the outstretched arms of S S Palestra Italia's goalie and right to Eduardo Eger. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. S S Palestra Italia's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Flávio Branco in the 97th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Geovanni Vaz saved S S Palestra Italia from getting behind. When the match clock showed 98 minutes, the score became 0-5 when Flávio Branco sped through S S Palestra Italia's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Geovanni Vaz.
