The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodolfo Pinheiro got free with Geovanni Vaz in the 3rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. S S Palestra Italia's Geovanni Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denílson Arantes in the 10th minute of play. Wilton Carneiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Geovanni Vaz having to interfere. In the 17th minute, S S Palestra Italia's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Denílson Arantes fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Denílson Arantes in the 19th minute of play forced S S Palestra Italia's goalkeeper Geovanni Vaz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Geovanni Vaz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dadá Torres in the 20th minute of the match. Denílson Arantes took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Geovanni Vaz. Geovanni Vaz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dadá Torres's shot from short distance in the 31st minute. Geovanni Vaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wilton Carneiro in the 38th minute of play. Geovanni Vaz was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Wilton Carneiro. In the 43rd minute Denílson Arantes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovanni Vaz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Rafinha Batista was the one to do the kick off. In the 59th minute, Dadá Torres hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Erik Ferraz fell near the penalty area in the 61st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored AS Pikachuzim's protests and gave Erik Ferraz a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to AS Pikachuzim getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Erik Ferraz hit a great ball. Miguel Donatello was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 62nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Geovanni Vaz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rodolfo Pinheiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. S S Palestra Italia's Geovanni Vaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Denílson Arantes in the 68th minute of play. 72 minutes into the match, S S Palestra Italia's goal looked a bit too open when Rodolfo Pinheiro came free, but Geovanni Vaz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
