But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bernard Scarpa couldn't finish the play. The referee felt a red card was in order, 14 minutes into the game, when Perivaldo Coelho put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 13th minute of the game. One of Barcellos Mineiro FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Galo na Veia FC™:s goal. The referee gave Galo na Veia FC™ a penalty, 16 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Rogério de Amorim, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Barcellos Mineiro FC's Luiz Guilherme Garcia. 0-1. Kiko Martins blasted a shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luiz Guilherme Garcia having to make a save. Luiz Guilherme Garcia showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bernard Scarpa, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. In the 34th minute Galo na Veia FC™ were awarded a corner. Rogério de Amorim went to the cornerflag to take it. Hugo Alcântara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luiz Guilherme Garcia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 36th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Manuel Antunes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 39 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Bernard Scarpa sped through Barcellos Mineiro FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Luiz Guilherme Garcia. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-4 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pedro Luiz Teles stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Rick Cabezon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Elói Medeiros. Galo na Veia FC™'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rick Cabezon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. In the 69th match minute, Barcellos Mineiro FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Amadeu Capixaba to maneuver through the defense. 72 minutes into the match, Galo na Veia FC™'s goal looked a bit too open when Dinei Guimarães came free, but Elói Medeiros reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Galo na Veia FC™'s Bernard Scarpa slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Luiz Guilherme Garcia. That made the score 1-6 after 73 minutes of play. An unexpected shot in the 79th minute by Samuca Arruda got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. A hard shot 82 in the game by Bernard Scarpa from a close distance when the talented Luiz Guilherme Garcia managed to make a qualified save. Barcellos Mineiro FC's players were relieved. Kiko Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd match minute, Galo na Veia FC™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rogério de Amorim to maneuver through the defense. The Barcellos Mineiro FC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Galo na Veia FC™'s performance. The match ended with a win for Galo na Veia FC™.
