Luiz Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Matías Valle having to interfere. 21 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Maicon Toscano came free, but Elivélton Koehler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. PEÇONHENTO FC MG's Matías Valle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baltazar Dantas in the 23rd minute of play. The supporters of Montesclarense E.C. booed when PEÇONHENTO FC MG was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sem Do didn't get a good kick on the ball. 33 minutes into the match, PEÇONHENTO FC MG's goal looked a bit too open when Jarbas Vinhas came free, but Matías Valle reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 47th minute, Manfredo de Sena made a precise shot to the right of Elivélton Koehler. Montesclarense E.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Baltazar Dantas was the one to do the kick off. Maicon Toscano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Maicon Toscano fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PEÇONHENTO FC MG's protests and gave Maicon Toscano a yellow card for diving instead. Waldemar da Silva hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 62nd minute, Dieguinho Alves hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Cavalcante kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Pedro Luiz Marinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Elivélton Koehler made a huge save. Maicon Toscano received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Elivélton Koehler came out and tried to block the shot, but Maicon Toscano slotted it home off the left post making it 0-3 in the 71st minute. Maicon Toscano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 78th minute of the match, but Elivélton Koehler made a huge save. Pedro Luiz Marinhos short, quick shot in the 81stth minute got Elivélton Koehler to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maicon Toscano in the 84th minute of play forced Montesclarense E.C.'s goalkeeper Elivélton Koehler to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elivélton Koehler took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maicon Toscano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Montesclarense E.C.'s Elivélton Koehler played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maicon Toscano in the 90th minute of play. 91 minutes into the match, Montesclarense E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Noel Rosado came free, but Elivélton Koehler reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
