An unexpectedly hard shot by Jardel Cabezon in the 25th minute of play forced Cruzeiro Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Arthur Bufi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José-Luis Chilavert took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brock Friend, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 46 minutes into the game, Brock Friend cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0.
