Montesclarense E.C.'s Florian Patrylo was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Jarbas Guedes in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 58th match minute, Montesclarense E.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gonçalo Diniz to maneuver through the defense. Montesclarense E.C.'s Mazinho Barral was substituted for Florian Patrylo. Montesclarense E.C.'s Roberto Melo was substituted for Jorge Sá. The supporters of S S Palestra Italia booed when Montesclarense E.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gonçalo Diniz didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Montesclarense E.C. players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
