If Lars Meesters had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Netherlands's Gust Ennemans got a free kick in the 26th minute. Arnout Reekers made an important save on a dangerous shot by Dave Di Filippo in the 27th minute. Hermanö Oilers's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Harel Minsky in the 28th minute. After taking down the ball on Hermanö Oilers's corner Dave Di Filippo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Arnout Reekers quite easily take care of the ball. In the 30th minute Dave Di Filippo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dave Di Filippo in the 30th minute of the match. Arnout Reekers stood somewhat misplaced when Dave Di Filippo came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 31 minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Harel Minsky in the 41st minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Gijsbert ter Kruimer was the one to do the kick off. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Dave Di Filippo came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Hermanö Oilers fans jumped to their feet. Hermanö Oilers's Bror Lilja was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Arnout Reekers in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Arnout Reekers didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Fabian Ramond went, in the 66th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Hermanö Oilers's Oskar Haeger proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 68th minute of the match, managed to save Hermanö Oilers from getting a goal against them. Bas Tuitert was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Hermanö Oilers's Ingemar Stålman was substituted for Bror Lilja. Hermanö Oilers's Oskar Haeger played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 73rd minute of play. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Harel Minsky, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. In the 79th minute Robin Hood shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 82 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when Harel Minsky came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Horea Popârcea's late challenge caught a Netherlands's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Horea Popârcea helped the player get up and apologised. Oskar Haeger had in the 85thth minute some difficulties stopping Gijsbert ter Kruimer's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The supporters of Hermanö Oilers booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 86 match minutes in a wonderful position. Egbert Nijveldt didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 93rd minute, Robin Hood left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Hermanö Oilers fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Oskar Haeger tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 98th play minute Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Oskar Haeger. 3-1. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Hermanö Oilers fans cheered their team off the field, for while Netherlands had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
