A nice corner shot did that Mei Jie Feng got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Gheorghe Baldovin quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. In the 15th minute, FC Buzău's Dumitru Cornoiu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Dumitru Cornoiu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC Buzău protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Dumitru Cornoiu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. Brazilio Butt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Traian Balaban in the 22nd minute of play. In the 22nd minute, Traian Balaban left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Buzău fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 25th minute, DIF LEEDS BK's Silviu Novac ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Gheorghe Baldovin. Gheorghe Baldovin yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Gheorghe Baldovin made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Tanek Bobrowski sent off a good shot on target. A collision led to FC Buzău getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Lucian Dejeu hit a great ball. 33 minutes into the match, FC Buzău's goal looked a bit too open when Silviu Novac came free, but Gheorghe Baldovin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Gheorghe Baldovin had great luck who in the 33rdth minute grab hold of the ball when Silviu Novac from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. When Dan Verhoeven fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored DIF LEEDS BK's protests and gave Dan Verhoeven a yellow card for diving instead. FC Buzău's Gheorghe Baldovin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Östen Hedin in the 44th minute of play. Östen Hedin succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 47th playminute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Östen Hedin was the one to do the kick off. The FC Buzău fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gheorghe Baldovin should have stopped the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulf Nordlander in the 88th minute of play forced FC Buzău's goalkeeper Gheorghe Baldovin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience was convinced that Östen Hedin's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gheorghe Baldovin was relentless in the 88th minute of the game.
