Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Samuele Kunz started the match with the kick off. 4 minutes into the game, FC Smolenice's Iván Sotomayor nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hias Nüssli made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 7th minute, Michal Pachl ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hias Nüssli was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 12th play minutes Iván Sotomayor shot 3-0, a short shot which went by Hias Nüssli and just under the crossbar into goal. 18 minutes into the game, Iván Sotomayor recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Hias Nüssli. Iván Sotomayor showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. Dávid Lapár took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Samuele Kunz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 24th minute, Csongor Tímár hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hias Nüssli took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Michal Pachl, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Well-Well O'Connell struck a weak shot in the 31st minute. Hias Nüssli didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for FC Smolenice. A collision led to Switzerland getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Rodrigo von Känel hit a great ball. 36 minutes into the game, Jacinto Maurer was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Switzerland's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FC Smolenice the free kick. In the 36th minute, Jacinto Maurer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iván Sotomayor in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hias Nüssli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When FC Smolenice's Iván Sotomayor in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Switzerland's goalie prevented a goal. Switzerland's attentive Fridolin Neumeister managed to snatch the ball when Iván Sotomayor made a throw-in in the 44th minute of the game. A collision led to Switzerland getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Eric Thomi hit a great ball. In the 47th minute of the match, Well-Well O'Connell got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hias Nüssli was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 5-0.
The wind increased when Iván Sotomayor made the kick off in the second half. Iván Sotomayor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Hias Nüssli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Yoncho Spaskov made in the 55th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Switzerland's Eric Thomi. After 61 minutes of play, FC Smolenice's Iván Sotomayor made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hias Nüssli was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Well-Well O'Connell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Michal Pachl came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the FC Smolenice fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Michal Pachl couldn't finish the play. Hias Nüssli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iván Sotomayor, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After 75 played minutes Switzerland got a freekick which was hit by Samuele Kunz. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Iván Sotomayor in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Hias Nüssli prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Iván Sotomayor received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. Hias Nüssli tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 83 minutes into the match, Michal Pachl had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Hias Nüssli. Switzerland's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Michal Pachl was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Iván Sotomayor in the 87th minute of play forced Switzerland's goalkeeper Hias Nüssli to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iván Sotomayor in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hias Nüssli saved Switzerland from getting behind. Hias Nüssli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iván Sotomayor in the 93rd minute of play. Hias Nüssli showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Iván Sotomayor, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. After 95 played minutes Switzerland got a freekick which was hit by Timo Siegmund. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. FC Smolenice had played much better football throughout.
