The Puianello FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Filippo Manzoli should have stopped the shot. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edmondo Primavera in the 13th minute of play. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Lars Meesters hit a great ball. David Eikelkamp scored 0-2 in the 18th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Filippo Manzoli, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 22nd minute Wim Wilmes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Filippo Manzoli saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Netherlands reached it. After a rather tough play, Puianello FC's Dario Marinelli got a free kick in the 41st minute. Filippo Manzoli made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 43rd minute of play. Filippo Manzoli showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 46th minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a kick off. The supporters of Puianello FC booed when Netherlands was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wim Wilmes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Diego Vulcano hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. In the 94th minute of the match Netherlands got a corner. Puianello FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gijsbert ter Kruimer ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which David Eikelkamp managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
