When Frank Sachs fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Germany's protests and gave Frank Sachs a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Frank Sachs. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Sachs made a kick off.
