After a defensive mix-up in Rega Merida CF's zone, Zaccheo Andolina stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Edmund Kojder came out of the goal and Zaccheo Andolina tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Nistor Sârban's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flavio Vittori was relentless in the 32nd minute of the game. Siricio Liotta scored 1-1 in the 35th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Edmund Kojder, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zaccheo Andolina to strike the kick off in the second half.
