In the 10th minute of the match Antal Valentin sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gigel Tilea skillfully saved the ball. Marin Giubelean might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Fodor Daniel. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. The audience was convinced that Major Barna's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gigel Tilea was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. 19 minutes into the match, Academia Rio's Marin Giubelean sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Fodor Daniel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Hungary fans' excitement grew in the 40th match minute when Hungary's Major Barna looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The supporters of Academia Rio booed when Hungary was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bakos Endre didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the Hungary defense, Marin Giubelean kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Fodor Daniel. The Hungary fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Fodor Daniel should have stopped the shot. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Marin Giubelean to strike the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Major Barna got free with Gigel Tilea in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Sergiu Coșeriu kicked well hit freekick during the 61st minute of the match. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marin Giubelean in the 63rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, Academia Rio's Dumitru Pantelimon got a free kick in the 70th minute. Dumitru Pantelimon hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. In the 74th minute, Marin Giubelean got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A collision led to Hungary getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Katona Janos hit a great ball. Dumitru Pantelimon struck a weak shot in the 78th minute. Fodor Daniel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Academia Rio. When Academia Rio's Marin Giubelean in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Bakos Endre made in the 87th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Hegedus Henrik however managed to control. Hegedus Henrik's late challenge caught a Academia Rio's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Hegedus Henrik helped the player get up and apologised. After 88 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Hegedus Henrik. In the 93rd minute, Marin Giubelean got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Major Barna received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 95th minute. Gigel Tilea tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hungary's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
