After 5 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Faustino Almeida. Wilson Amorim made a fantastic save in the 8th minute, when Tom Hermansson sent off a good shot on target. A very nice done corner allowed Tom Hermansson to score against Wilson Amorim in Portugal's goal. 1-0 after 10 minutes. 12 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Hermansson came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tom Hermansson's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Wilson Amorim skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind AZURDUY F.C.'s goalkeeper Teodosio Iigo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. AZURDUY F.C.'s Teodosio Iigo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 22nd minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, AZURDUY F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Felipe Barreto came free, but Teodosio Iigo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute Felipe Barreto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Teodosio Iigo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Teodosio Iigo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Viriato Moura, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 34 minutes, Viriato Moura made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. AZURDUY F.C.'s Teodosio Iigo tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Tom Hermansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Viriato Moura in the 44th minute of play forced AZURDUY F.C.'s goalkeeper Teodosio Iigo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 47 minutes AZURDUY F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Felipe Barreto who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Portugal's corner Felipe Barreto fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Teodosio Iigo quite easily take care of the ball. Teodosio Iigo didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Viriato Moura went, in the 48th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Tom Hermansson made the kick off in the second half. The audience thought a goal was coming when Viriato Moura got free with Teodosio Iigo in the 54th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 55th minute of the game Faustino Almeida made a throw-in which Daniel Pimentel played forward. If Viriato Moura had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. AZURDUY F.C.'s Arnaldo Ostots was substituted for Sun Feng Chen. AZURDUY F.C. made a substitution. Manuel Valerio replaced Vinicio Venceslao. After a defensive mix-up in AZURDUY F.C.'s zone, Felipe Barreto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Teodosio Iigo came out of the goal and Felipe Barreto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Teodosio Iigo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Viriato Moura in the 63rd minute. If Tom Hermansson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 72 minutes into the match, AZURDUY F.C.'s goalkeeper Teodosio Iigo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Viriato Moura. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 73rd minute of the game. One of Portugal:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AZURDUY F.C.:s goal. Tom Hermansson's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 75th minute of play. Faustino Almeida kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Faustino Almeida hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. In the 79th minute, Faustino Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tom Hermansson in the 81st minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Portugal's Daniel Pimentel managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tom Hermansson in the 86 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Niclas Füllkrug in the 86th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Bruno Bastos hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. 91 minutes into the game, AZURDUY F.C.'s Niclas Füllkrug nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-2. 98 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Tom Hermansson came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
