Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Regis Pujol in the 29th minute of play forced Croatia's goalkeeper Ilija Skugor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 37th minute, Regis Pujol left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The San Isidro De Albatera CD fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. In the 40th minute of the match, Regis Pujol got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ilija Skugor was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Ilija Skugor showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Regis Pujol in the 47th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Regis Pujol to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, Regis Pujol had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Ilija Skugor. In the 59th minute Baldomero Briso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ilija Skugor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, Croatia's Damir Pongrac got a free kick in the 61st minute. 66 minutes into the match, San Isidro De Albatera CD's Cristobal Castaño sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Ilija Skugor narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The supporters of Croatia booed when San Isidro De Albatera CD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Regis Pujol didn't get a good kick on the ball. Despite being the better team, San Isidro De Albatera CD failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
