Borys Patora made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alejandro Rufo in the 22nd minute. Edmundo Mendes took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dante Fernendo. Dante Fernendo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. 29 minutes into the match, Sporting de Gijón's goal looked a bit too open when Edmundo Mendes came free, but Dante Fernendo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After taking down the ball on Los Playmobil FC's corner Hernan Su fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dante Fernendo quite easily take care of the ball. In the 62nd minute of the match Los Playmobil FC got a corner. Sporting de Gijón's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cipriano Lauren ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Cipriano Lauren almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sporting de Gijón's Dante Fernendo did a great save. After 65 played minutes, Sporting de Gijón's Saturnino Curcio shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Borys Patora came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sporting de Gijón reached it. The supporters of Sporting de Gijón booed when Los Playmobil FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ildefonso Platini didn't get a good kick on the ball. Los Playmobil FC had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
