Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Denmark's Chris Nygaard started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the match, Denmark's goalkeeper Keld Paulsen had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jedrzej Tomaka. Velez's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Enrique Arósio in the 4th minute. The corner led Velez's Enrique Arósio to fire away a dangerous shot which Keld Paulsen despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 11th minute, Götz Dubach hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind Velez's goalkeeper Fulgencio Rioja, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chris Nygaard in the 13th minute of play forced Velez's goalkeeper Fulgencio Rioja to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 13th minute, Chris Nygaard left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Denmark fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Jindřich Přecechtěl took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Keld Paulsen. Keld Paulsen dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Fulgencio Rioja made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lars Steen in the 19th minute of play. In the 25th minute, Juan-Sebastián Torres reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Keld Paulsen. The goal made the score 2-1. If Mikkel Wulff had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Velez's zone, Chris Nygaard stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fulgencio Rioja came out of the goal and Chris Nygaard tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Keld Paulsen made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jedrzej Tomaka in the 33rd minute. After some careless play in the Denmark defense, Juan-Sebastián Torres kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Keld Paulsen. The Denmark fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Keld Paulsen should have stopped the shot.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jedrzej Tomaka made a kick off. When the match had gone on for 52 minutes, Jedrzej Tomaka put it in 5-2 from a short distance just to the right of Keld Paulsen. A throw-in in the 59th minute of the game was made by Elias Lonzo with Enrique Arósio as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Jindřich Přecechtěl sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Enrique Arósio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Keld Paulsen tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 66th minute, Jedrzej Tomaka hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Denmark getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Mikkel Wulff hit a great ball. 72 minutes into the match, Jedrzej Tomaka had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Keld Paulsen. Denmark's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jedrzej Tomaka was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-2. Mikkel Wulff's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fulgencio Rioja read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. 81 minutes into the game, Chris Nygaard was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Denmark's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Velez the free kick. In the 81st minute, Chris Nygaard hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With an all-out effort, Denmark's Fulgencio Rioja threw himself towards the right post 83 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mikkel Wulff, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 87th match minute, Denmark was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bjarne Kirkegaard to maneuver through the defense. Denmark's Keld Paulsen played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan-Sebastián Torres in the 90th minute of play. Mikkel Wulff kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. When Juan-Sebastián Torres came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the Velez fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan-Sebastián Torres couldn't finish the play. Bertram Svenningsen's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fulgencio Rioja read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. Denmark's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
