The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arsenio Cordeal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 13th minute of play. In the 26th minute Zaccheo Andolina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arsenio Cordeal saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Zaccheo Andolina's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Arsenio Cordeal read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 29th minute of play. The Italy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Flavio Vittori should have stopped the shot. Zaccheo Andolina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Italy's Adriano Curto quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Clemente Fe, made in the 46th minute of the game. Zaccheo Andolina recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zaccheo Andolina was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, Zaccheo Andolina recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Arsenio Cordeal. Zaccheo Andolina showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Arsenio Cordeal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zaccheo Andolina's shot from short distance in the 56th minute. Clemente Fe made in the 63rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Kåre Uter. After 65 minutes Italy's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rolando Francho who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Rolando Francho got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Flavio Vittori quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 67 played minutes Italy got a freekick which was hit by Adriano Curto. 70 minutes into the match, Zaccheo Andolina notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Plebeyos's Arsenio Cordeal. Arsenio Cordeal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Plebeyos made a substitution. Melquiades Lauren replaced Eduardo Barrionuevo. Through an outstanding action, after 75 minutes, Arsenio Cordeal successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Arsenio Cordeal showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zaccheo Andolina, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute.
