If Gijsbert ter Kruimer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 9th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Black Express's Izydor Piatek got a free kick in the 11th minute. Hugon Drab showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 12th minute. When Wim Wilmes fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Netherlands's protests and gave Wim Wilmes a yellow card for diving instead. After 13 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by Wim Wilmes. In the 14th minute, Fabian Mindykowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hugon Drab made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 15th minute of play. In the 18th minute Gijsbert ter Kruimer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hugon Drab saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, Black Express's Arnout Reekers threw himself towards the right post 20 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Stefan Faron, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 21st match minute, Netherlands was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Wim Wilmes to maneuver through the defense. Arnout Reekers took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Stefan Faron, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 38 played minutes Netherlands got a freekick which was hit by David Eikelkamp. If Izydor Piatek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rafal Domaradzki during the 42nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Black Express was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafal Domaradzki didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 46th minute of play forced Black Express's goalkeeper Hugon Drab to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After the first half Netherlands were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Wim Wilmes took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hugon Drab. Hugon Drab dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Arnout Reekers showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Wladyslaw Setara in the 58th minute of the match. In the 60th minute, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Hugon Drab. Hugon Drab yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. If Wim Wilmes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 65 minutes into the match, Rafal Domaradzki notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Netherlands's Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gijsbert ter Kruimer's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Hugon Drab read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 67th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Netherlands's Wim Wilmes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hugon Drab. That made the score 1-4 after 70 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Black Express's Wladyslaw Bialakowski got a free kick in the 73rd minute. Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 76th minute Rafal Domaradzki shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 77th match minute, Black Express was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Borys Walkowski to maneuver through the defense. Wladyslaw Bialakowski got his second yellow card in the match during the 81st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Netherlandss' Hugon Drab just managed to throw himself towards the right post in the 83rdth minute after Gijsbert ter Kruimers penalty, and stop a certain goal. In the 86th match minute, Black Express was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fabian Mindykowski to maneuver through the defense. Gijsbert ter Kruimer sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. David Eikelkamp fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hugon Drab having to interfere. Netherlands's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
