A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Fabricio Andrade hit a great ball. 10 minutes into the game, Övertorneå RK's Niclas Jakobsson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Övertorneå RK's Austen Willis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Pimentel in the 14th minute of play. 16 minutes into the match, Felipe Barreto notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Övertorneå RK's Austen Willis. Austen Willis was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 19 minutes of play, Portugal's Felipe Barreto made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Austen Willis was left in no man's land by his defense there! Austen Willis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Pimentel in the 22nd minute of play. Portugal's Wilson Amorim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Portugal from getting a goal against them. The crowd rose to their feet as Niclas Jakobsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wilson Amorim. That made the score 2-2 in the 27 minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Övertorneå RK's zone, Viriato Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Austen Willis came out of the goal and Viriato Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Niclas Jakobsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Igor Erroman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wilson Amorim having to interfere. Viriato Moura scored 2-3 in the 41st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Austen Willis, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Övertorneå RK's Niclas Jakobsson got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tage Falk to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Niclas Jakobsson had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Niclas Jakobsson was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. After some careless play in the Portugal defense, Niclas Jakobsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wilson Amorim. The Portugal fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wilson Amorim should have stopped the shot. Austen Willis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Viriato Moura in the 63rd minute of play. Portugal's Viriato Moura got a good chance for a goal in the 66th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Övertorneå RK's Niclas Jakobsson got a free kick in the 71st minute. Övertorneå RK's August Bergendahl was substituted for Kurt-Jürgen Kurri. An unexpectedly hard shot by Igor Erroman in the 75th minute of play forced Portugal's goalkeeper Wilson Amorim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Austen Willis made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Felipinho Amorim sent off a good shot on target. 78 minutes into the match, Övertorneå RK's Niclas Jakobsson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilson Amorim narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Övertorneå RK's Allan Pettersson was substituted for Niclas Jakobsson. A sloppy throw-in by Fabricio Andrade in the 83rd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Övertorneå RK's Claes Sjögren. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Allan Pettersson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Övertorneå RK's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
