In the 3rd minute Gazanfer Canıtez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of FC LIVERPOOL booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Dreifuss didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gazanfer Canıtez took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tommy Kahn. Tommy Kahn dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eskil Stenkvist in the 22nd minute of play. Gazanfer Canıtez might have been able to make a better finish in the 24th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommy Kahn. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gazanfer Canıtez ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 24th match minute, FC LIVERPOOL was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fred Tutorskiy to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gazanfer Canıtez in the 35th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lam Baril sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 44 minutes into the game, Fred Tutorskiy was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC LIVERPOOL's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Germany the free kick. Germany made a substitution. Rolf Rothberg replaced Albin Holweck. Fred Tutorskiy kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Gazanfer Canıtez made the kick off in the second half. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gazanfer Canıtez in the 51st minute of the match. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by FC LIVERPOOL's Gazanfer Canıtez. But to his dismay, Gazanfer Canıtez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-0. Eskil Stenkvist fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. With a little luck, FC LIVERPOOL's Clive Shilton got control of the ball when Frank Sachs tried to sneak it across the goal line. Adrian Dreifuss's late challenge caught a FC LIVERPOOL's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adrian Dreifuss helped the player get up and apologised. After 66 played minutes, FC LIVERPOOL's Fred Tutorskiy shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Tommy Kahn came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in FC LIVERPOOL reached it. After 68 minutes, Lam Baril made it 4-0 with a short kick to the right side. Germany's Tommy Kahn tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gazanfer Canıtez in the 72nd minute of play. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Sven Krakouer hit a great ball. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Clive Shilton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When FC LIVERPOOL's Gazanfer Canıtez in the 86th minute got a chance for a shot 86th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 88 minutes play. Malte Schiele hit a great ball. In the 93rd minute, Gazanfer Canıtez made a precise shot to the right of Tommy Kahn. Germany's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eskil Stenkvist, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The FC LIVERPOOL fans cheered their team off the field, for while Germany had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
