The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, Zbyszek Gondela cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Tommy Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zbyszek Gondela received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Tommy Kahn came out and tried to block the shot, but Zbyszek Gondela slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 7th minute. Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zbyszek Gondela's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zbyszek Gondela in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Willy Stieler's late challenge caught a SuRpRiSe's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Willy Stieler helped the player get up and apologised. In the 21st match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willy Stieler to maneuver through the defense. Germany's Tommy Kahn proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Germany from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Willy Stieler hit a great ball. Zbyszek Gondela in the 31stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Tommy Kahn, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by SuRpRiSe's Zbyszek Gondela. But to his dismay, Zbyszek Gondela quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. 37 minutes into the match, Zbyszek Gondela dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Tommy Kahn, 5-0. The supporters of SuRpRiSe booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willy Stieler didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zbyszek Gondela struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Tommy Kahn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SuRpRiSe. After having played for 45 minutes, Zbyszek Gondela managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SuRpRiSe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Zbyszek Gondela was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zbyszek Gondela to make the kick off. In the 51st minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mieszko Olchowy saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The throw-in from Willy Stieler in the 58th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by SuRpRiSe's Konstanty Latocha. 60 minutes into the game, SuRpRiSe's Zbyszek Gondela nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. After 73 minutes of play, SuRpRiSe's Zbyszek Gondela made it 9-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tommy Kahn was left in no man's land by his defense there! SuRpRiSe made a substitution. Alfred Pawelczyk replaced Zbyszek Gondela. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alfred Pawelczyk in the 81st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. In the 84th match minute, SuRpRiSe was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Konstanty Latocha to maneuver through the defense. Albin Holweck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Germany's Willy Stieler quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Konstanty Latocha, made in the 95th minute of the game. Germany's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
