In the 3rd minute, Galati Harbour Cats's Shi Li dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. With his leg Benjamin Cuss managed to avoid a goal in the 6thth minute, when Galati Harbour Cats's Shi Li fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Octavian Soare showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Olimpiu Dragnea, who was totally free with the ball in the 8th minute. In the 8th minute, Olimpiu Dragnea made a precise shot to the right of Octavian Soare. Galati Harbour Cats's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Benjamin Cuss took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Shi Li, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iordache Negrițoiu kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. Galati Harbour Cats's Octavian Soare played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olimpiu Dragnea in the 29th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Goo Goo Dolls's Matteo Gillis got a free kick in the 32nd minute. In the 36th minute, Shi Li got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Goo Goo Dolls's Benjamin Cuss played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ianis Man in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute Mo Yuan Fan suffered a thigh injury and had to be helped off the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dom Rusby during the 43rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 44th match minute, Goo Goo Dolls was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dom Rusby to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 46 minutes, Ianis Man managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Galati Harbour Cats's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ianis Man was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Ianis Man in the 51st minute of play forced Goo Goo Dolls's goalkeeper Benjamin Cuss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dom Rusby received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Octavian Soare tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benjamin Cuss showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Shi Li in the 56th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Galati Harbour Cats's zone, Matteo Gillis stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Octavian Soare came out of the goal and Matteo Gillis tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ianis Man fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benjamin Cuss having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 64th minute, Olimpiu Dragnea managed to get in a good position for a shot. Goo Goo Dolls's supporters rose to their feet, but Olimpiu Dragnea was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Octavian Soare breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 68thth minute of the game Shi Li who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Goo Goo Dolls's Benjamin Cuss was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Shi Li in the 70th minute of play forced Goo Goo Dolls's goalkeeper Benjamin Cuss to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 70 minutes into the match, Ianis Man notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Goo Goo Dolls's Benjamin Cuss. Benjamin Cuss was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Matteo Gillis scored 2-2 in the 74th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Octavian Soare, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Shi Li might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benjamin Cuss. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Shi Li ran back to his position shaking his head. If Matteo Gillis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute Shi Li shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjamin Cuss saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
