But to his dismay, Frank Sachs quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. 13 minutes into the game, Richard Nixon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Tommy Kahn was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 16 minutes into the match, Germany's goal looked a bit too open when Richard Nixon came free, but Tommy Kahn reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Adrian Dreifuss kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Richard Nixon, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. Barbaros Bozbey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Richard Nixon in the 32nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 34th minute the ball was on its way in behind Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Nixon in the 44th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Frank Sachs was the one to do the kick off. In the 55th minute, Geovani Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Willy Stieler's late challenge caught a The Cavern Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Willy Stieler helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of The Cavern Club booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Willy Stieler didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Geovani Mendonça stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Geovani Mendonça tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adrian Dreifuss kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 71st minute, Geovani Mendonça ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. In the 75th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Linus Schwerner to maneuver through the defense. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 79th minute The Cavern Club were awarded a corner. Tobias Otsoa went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Tobias Otsoa got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Tommy Kahn quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geovani Mendonça in the 81st minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 83rd minute, Geovani Mendonça left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The The Cavern Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-1. Tommy Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geovani Mendonça went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 5-1 was the resulting score. A collision led to The Cavern Club getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Santiago Emesto hit a great ball. Geovani Mendonça's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommy Kahn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. In the 94th minute Geovani Mendonça shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 97 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Malte Schiele. The Cavern Club were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Germany for a fine match.
