A collision led to Doctors of Ophtalmology getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Per Forsberg hit a great ball. Frank Peletier sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Peletier in the 46th minute of play forced Doctors of Ophtalmology's goalkeeper Hannes Blomqvist to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 47 minutes, Frank Peletier managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. France's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Peletier was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Frank Peletier got free with Hannes Blomqvist in the 51st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. It was a well-played corner which Henry Robiquet managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After some fancy dribbling in the 58th minute, Frank Peletier managed to get in a good position for a shot. Hannes Blomqvist breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Maxime Durand didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Svante Clementsson went, in the 60th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. France's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by David Barbier in the 65th minute. Henry Robiquet's late challenge caught a Doctors of Ophtalmology's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henry Robiquet helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to France getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Henry Robiquet hit a great ball. Hannes Blomqvist made an important save on a dangerous shot by Frank Peletier in the 75th minute. In the 78th minute, Sven Ekberg ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Maxime Durand was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. 80 minutes into the game, France's Frank Peletier nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Hannes Blomqvist made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Hannes Blomqvist made a fantastic save in the 83rd minute, when Frank Peletier sent off a good shot on target. When Doctors of Ophtalmology's Svante Clementsson in the 87th minute got a chance for a shot 87th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
