Omar Toledo took the ball and in the 39 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Manuel Neuer. Manuel Neuer dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Lanús's Manuel Neuer played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Omar Toledo in the 44th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Lanús's Eloy Gaskon was substituted for Roberto Puch. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Omar Toledo to make the kick off. Manuel Neuer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Omar Toledo in the 52nd minute of play. Eloy Gaskon scored 1-1 in the 54th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Gabriel Ascaso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Manuel Neuer showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adria Bielsa in the 81st minute of the match. After 82 played minutes Lanús got a freekick which was hit by 范枫青. Spain's Pau Herrero was substituted for David Aranda. Spain made a substitution. Sergio Ruiz replaced Adria Bielsa. After 83 played minutes Lanús got a freekick which was hit by 范枫青. Manuel Neuer made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jon Cubero in the 84th minute of play. In the 85th minute Eloy Gaskon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ascaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 89th minute, Sergio Ruiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 93 minutes into the match, Sergio Ruiz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manuel Neuer. Lanús's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Sergio Ruiz was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Lanús's Jake Hursey managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jonathan Criado in the 96 minute of the game. Spain's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
