After 2 played minutes Germany got a freekick which was hit by Malte Schiele. Eurospeed Asti's Fausto Pinti got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elia Pietrantoni, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. Fausto Pinti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fausto Pinti in the 18th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adrian Dreifuss to maneuver through the defense. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Elia Pietrantoni in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tommy Kahn saved Germany from getting behind. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Sachs made a kick off. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fausto Pinti in the 54th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Germany's zone, Elia Pietrantoni stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommy Kahn came out of the goal and Elia Pietrantoni tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to Germany getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Albin Holweck hit a great ball. Tommy Kahn showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fortunato Borromeo, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. Frank Sachs who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Damiano Battisti when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Sachs in the 69th minute of play forced Eurospeed Asti's goalkeeper Damiano Battisti to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute, Fausto Pinti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Eurospeed Asti's Damiano Battisti played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Frank Sachs in the 74th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Elia Pietrantoni's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fausto Pinti in the 82nd minute of play.
