When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Erik Ljusberg made a kick off. Felipe Barreto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Manfred Fribäck made a huge save. If Nicolás Castillo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Manfred Fribäck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gilbert Hermansson couldn't finish the play. Felipinho Amorim scored 3-2 in the 78th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Manfred Fribäck, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 89th play minute Felipinho Amorim came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Manfred Fribäck. 3-3. 92 minutes into the match, Gilbert Hermansson notched a goal, 4-3, to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gilbert Hermansson in the 96th minute of play. 96 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Gilbert Hermansson came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
