After a defensive mix-up in Boom Shaka Laka's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Chiquito Branca came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 10 minutes into the match, Boom Shaka Laka's goal looked a bit too open when Gijsbert ter Kruimer came free, but Chiquito Branca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 12 minutes of play, Netherlands's Wim Wilmes made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Chiquito Branca was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lars Meesters sent away a hard shot on goal in the 15th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 17 minutes into the match, Boom Shaka Laka's goal looked a bit too open when Gustaaf Groeneveldt came free, but Chiquito Branca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Delmiro Peto's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 24thth minute, Arnout Reekers skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Delmiro Peto took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Chiquito Branca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Wim Wilmes in the 30th minute of play. Chiquito Branca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. Lars Meesters struck a weak shot in the 44th minute. Chiquito Branca didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Netherlands.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Lars-Erik Rolandsson was the one to do the kick off. In the 57th minute of the match, Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Chiquito Branca saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Chiquito Branca tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 61st minute, Gijsbert ter Kruimer left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Netherlands fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delmiro Peto in the 68th minute of play. Olov Kvalfält charged in rather forcefully in the 71st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olov Kvalfält the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 71st minute of the game. One of Boom Shaka Laka:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Netherlands:s goal. Boom Shaka Laka:s Chiquito Branca showed great skill when he stopped Gijsbert ter Kruimer:s penalty. Gijsbert ter Kruimer did an outstanding performance 73 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 1-3 to the right of an irritated Chiquito Branca in the goal. After having played for 77 minutes, Gustaaf Groeneveldt managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Netherlands's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gustaaf Groeneveldt was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Delmiro Peto, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Chiquito Branca made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Wim Wilmes sent off a good shot on target. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 98th minute after Boom Shaka Laka's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer made a great header on Netherlands's corner, it was just that Boom Shaka Laka's Chiquito Branca managed to reach the ball for a save. When the match was over Netherlands could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Boom Shaka Laka throughout the match.
