Raul Caetano hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. In the 5th minute Georgi Dimitrov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wilson Amorim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Arnulfo Roderigo kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wilson Amorim. That made the score 1-0 in the 6 minute of play. FC CSKA's Georgi Velinov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Felipe Barreto in the 12th minute of play. If Felipe Barreto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe Barreto in the 14th minute of play forced FC CSKA's goalkeeper Georgi Velinov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 15th minute Graciano Coutinho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georgi Velinov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Georgi Velinov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caetano Moreira, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A sloppy throw-in by Tanel Kiik in the 18th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Portugal's Bruno Bastos. A collision led to Portugal getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Caetano Moreira hit a great ball. Georgi Velinov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felipe Barreto in the 22nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caetano Moreira in the 24th minute of play forced FC CSKA's goalkeeper Georgi Velinov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Georgi Velinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Georgi Dimitrov in the 33rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilson Amorim saved Portugal from getting behind. Raul Caetano kicked well hit freekick during the 34th minute of the match. Ahmet Refik Ülgü kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Viriato Moura to make the kick off. Georgi Velinov showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Viriato Moura in the 52nd minute of the match. Wilson Amorim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Arnulfo Roderigo in the 57th minute of play. Georgi Velinov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Felipe Barreto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 62nd minute, Graciano Coutinho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Georgi Velinov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Viriato Moura, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Caetano Moreira received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Georgi Velinov came out and tried to block the shot, but Caetano Moreira slotted it home off the left post making it 2-1 in the 66th minute. Georgi Velinov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felipinho Amorim in the 72nd minute of play. FC CSKA's Georgi Velinov played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bartolomeu Dias in the 76th minute of play. Georgi Velinov made a fantastic save in the 78th minute, when Felipinho Amorim sent off a good shot on target. Wilson Amorim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 82nd minute of the match. Through an outstanding action, after 83 minutes, Georgi Velinov successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The crowd rose to their feet as Caetano Moreira kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Georgi Velinov. That made the score 2-2 in the 83 minute of play. In the 86th minute Caetano Moreira shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Georgi Velinov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipinho Amorim in the 87th minute of play forced FC CSKA's goalkeeper Georgi Velinov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by FC CSKA's Ahmet Refik Ülgü. But to his dismay, Ahmet Refik Ülgü quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-3. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
