After a defensive mix-up in AC MiLaN's zone, Antal Valentin stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Iurie Chiriacescu came out of the goal and Antal Valentin tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With an all-out effort, AC MiLaN's Fodor Daniel threw himself towards the right post 26 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Flavius Pârâianu, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Iurie Chiriacescu stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Takacs Tibor's shot from short distance in the 30th minute. AC MiLaN's Iurie Chiriacescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antal Valentin in the 32nd minute of play. After 33 played minutes Hungary got a freekick which was hit by Major Barna. Antal Valentin struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Iurie Chiriacescu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Hungary. After having played for 40 minutes, Antal Valentin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Hungary's supporters crossed their fingers, but Antal Valentin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Emil Văcărescu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 44 minutes into the match, Hungary's goalkeeper Fodor Daniel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Emil Văcărescu. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavius Pârâianu in the 46th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Flavius Pârâianu made a kick off. Fodor Daniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelian Acalinei, who was totally free with the ball in the 50th minute. Fodor Daniel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavius Pârâianu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Antal Valentin got free with Iurie Chiriacescu in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. AC MiLaN's Iurie Chiriacescu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 55th minute of the match, managed to save AC MiLaN from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, AC MiLaN's Iurie Chiriacescu got control of the ball when Major Barna tried to sneak it across the goal line. 66 minutes had been played when some careless play by AC MiLaN's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. A very good chance. Hungary's Fodor Daniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Flavius Pârâianu in the 68th minute of play. Hungary's Antal Valentin got a good chance for a goal in the 69th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Iurie Chiriacescu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antal Valentin in the 72nd minute. 73 minutes into the match, Antal Valentin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Iurie Chiriacescu. AC MiLaN's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Antal Valentin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After 78 played minutes AC MiLaN got a freekick which was hit by Nae Ionescu. Antal Valentin could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Iurie Chiriacescu made a huge save. After 93 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for AC MiLaN! Iurie Chiriacescu had in the 94thth minute some difficulties stopping Antal Valentin's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball.
