The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in France's zone, Junior Quintana stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Maxime Durand came out of the goal and Junior Quintana tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Through an outstanding action, after 7 minutes, Maxime Durand successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 10th minute, Dinaras Stanaitis hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 12 minutes of play, France's Robert Chapuis made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Kryspin Cupial was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Félicien Boidin during the 20th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 21st match minute, Cosa nostra Lyon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Félicien Boidin to maneuver through the defense. 22 minutes into the game, Frank Peletier cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Kryspin Cupial was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Joe Plantin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Uwe Birmes got free with Maxime Durand in the 48th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-2 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Uwe Birmes to make the kick off. Frank Peletier's late challenge caught a Cosa nostra Lyon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Frank Peletier helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cosa nostra Lyon booed when France was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Frank Peletier didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Junior Quintana in the 60th managed to get into a good position. Dinaras Stanaitis didn't get a good kick on the ball. Maxime Durand stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Uwe Birmes's shot from short distance in the 66th minute. Camille Baume received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Kryspin Cupial tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th minute, Junior Quintana made a precise shot to the right of Maxime Durand. France's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-2. In the 73rdth minute of the game Junior Quintana who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but France's Maxime Durand was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. France's Frank Peletier came free and shot a quick shot against goal 76 minutes in the game, fortunately Kryspin Cupial had problems saving as it came toward the left post. Faudel Dagorne hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. France were furious when Maxence Durand was red carded, 80 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. After 79 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for France! Frank Peletier came free with the goalkeeper in the 87th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Kryspin Cupial could save by the left post. France's Maxime Durand played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Horia Şuplăcan in the 90th minute of play. 94 minutes into the game, Junior Quintana cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-2. Maxime Durand was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 97th minute, Frank Peletier got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cosa nostra Lyon's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
