Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmine Oddi in the 9th minute of play. In the 10th minute of the match AC Collins got a corner. Germany's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Koko Mero ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on AC Collins's corner Koko Mero fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tommy Kahn quite easily take care of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 12th minute, Mel Önen managed to get in a good position for a shot. AC Collins's supporters rose to their feet, but Mel Önen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 15th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Foddis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Uci Hardon in the 17th minute of play forced Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mel Önen could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Tommy Kahn made a huge save. Frank Sachs blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Donato Foddis having to make a save. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Mel Önen took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Tommy Kahn to make any attempt to save it. Carlo Maestri made in the 36th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Mel Önen however managed to control. Tommy Kahn didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mel Önen went, in the 39th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Frank Sachs sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 56 minutes into the game, AC Collins's Mel Önen nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. After some careless play in the Germany defense, Mel Önen kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tommy Kahn. The Germany fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tommy Kahn should have stopped the shot. After 68 played minutes AC Collins got a freekick which was hit by Carmine Oddi. Frank Sachs received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 72nd minute. Donato Foddis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Pekko Rino's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tommy Kahn was relentless in the 76th minute of the game. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pekko Rino in the 77th minute of the match. After 79 minutes of play, AC Collins's Pekko Rino made it 5-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tommy Kahn was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot. Germany's supporters rose to their feet, but Frank Sachs was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Donato Foddis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.
