The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Romania booed when Pan FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ambrosio Opilano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Pan FC's Sebastian Quirce played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Costica Vladimiri in the 12th minute of play. 13 minutes into the match, Pan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Costica Vladimiri came free, but Sebastian Quirce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Romania's Carol Stinga proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Romania from getting a goal against them. With a little luck, Romania's Carol Stinga got control of the ball when Ambrosio Opilano tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 18 played minutes Pan FC got a freekick which was hit by Rolando Diegotxe. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adam Olaru in the 19th minute of play forced Pan FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Quirce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sebastian Quirce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Costica Vladimiri in the 22nd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sanda Cutov in the 30th minute of play forced Pan FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Quirce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34thth minute of the game Sanda Cutov who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Pan FC's Sebastian Quirce was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sanda Cutov sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Romania's Filip Stefan managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Fulgencio Alvarez in the 37 minute of the game. In the 42nd minute, Vasile Ciumak left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Romania fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Adam Olaru in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastian Quirce prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 56 minutes into the match, Pan FC's goalkeeper Sebastian Quirce had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Sanda Cutov. Romania made a substitution. Anton Stinga replaced Adam Olaru. Romania were awarded a corner in the 58th minute after Pan FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Sanda Cutov took the corner. Sanda Cutov received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Sebastian Quirce came out and tried to block the shot, but Sanda Cutov slotted it home off the left post making it 1-2 in the 62nd minute. Sebastian Quirce showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Anton Stinga in the 66th minute of the match. Anton Stinga didn't have the luck on his side when he, from a short distance, got a opportunity for a shot on goal in the 66th minute. The shot missed the goal on the right side and Anton Stinga ran dejectedly back to his position. Romania's Alexandru Pangratiu was substituted for Alex Serban.
