Gabriel Ascaso didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Protegéerna. In the 30th minute Adria Bielsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingemar Åberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Guido Python received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Gabriel Ascaso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th minute Guido Python shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ascaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Protegéerna fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-1. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Petter Skarkman couldn't finish the play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Ulrik Söderlund received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. Gabriel Ascaso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 55th minute of the match, Omar Toledo got a very nice opportunity to score, but Ingemar Åberg was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Gabriel Ascaso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guido Python, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Gabriel Ascaso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Petter Skarkman's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. Petter Skarkman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gabriel Ascaso having to interfere. Protegéerna made a substitution. Jonny Ånger replaced Yasen Súlov. Protegéerna's Bo Låsberg was substituted for Fernando Arango. In the 72nd minute Adria Bielsa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ingemar Åberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 74 played minutes Spain got a freekick which was hit by Israel Jurado. After having played for 75 minutes, Michael Näver managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Protegéerna's supporters crossed their fingers, but Michael Näver was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Spain's Pau Herrero was substituted for David Aranda. Ingemar Åberg showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carles Cherro in the 78th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Santiago Sartori in the 82nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Protegéerna's Cosme Demesio. 84 minutes into the game, Spain's Carles Cherro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Ingemar Åberg made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. In the 89th minute, Petter Skarkman ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gabriel Ascaso was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-2. 94 minutes into the match, Protegéerna's Petter Skarkman sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gabriel Ascaso narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Protegéerna support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
