The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of Chivos booed when LOI was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mustafa Barış Yarlık didn't get a good kick on the ball. Johannes Sobeck stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jens-Ove Näver's shot from short distance in the 9th minute. Ramon Avellaneda charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ramon Avellaneda the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 14th match minute, Chivos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ramon Avellaneda to maneuver through the defense. 17 minutes into the match, Jens-Ove Näver dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Johannes Sobeck, 1-0. The supporters of LOI booed when Chivos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. LOI's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chivos the free kick. Nuralp İnegöllü hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. Johannes Sobeck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens-Ove Näver, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. Jens-Ove Näver sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Arsenio Garoa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Johannes Sobeck showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jens-Ove Näver, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. In the 47th match minute, Chivos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mauro Frutos to maneuver through the defense. 1-1 became the score in the 49th minute when Rickard Thidén elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jens-Ove Näver was the one to do the kick off. Jesus Atarratze showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rickard Thidén, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. With a little luck, Chivos's Jesus Atarratze got control of the ball when Tarık Sehhar tried to sneak it across the goal line. LOI were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after Chivos's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Atahan Doğanlar took the corner. Tarık Sehhar could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Jesus Atarratze made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aras Görkem Zümer in the 81st minute of play forced LOI's goalkeeper Johannes Sobeck to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in LOI's zone, Jens-Ove Näver stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Johannes Sobeck came out of the goal and Jens-Ove Näver tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 87th minute Arsenio Garoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Johannes Sobeck saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 88th minute, Ramon Avellaneda hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 90 minutes, Jens-Ove Näver managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chivos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jens-Ove Näver was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Neither set of supporters seemed pleased with the draw, but both teams had played equally well today.
