An unexpectedly hard shot by Henrik Larsson in the 10th minute of play forced KFC Cromvelde's goalkeeper Jean-Louis Van Bever to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jochen Van den Panhuizen made in the 17th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Herman Frans. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dé 武松 in the 23rd minute of play forced Decathlon Dudes's goalkeeper Tadej Pogačar to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tadej Pogačar made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mathijs Rokeloos in the 27th minute. In the 29th minute Dieter Denys shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tadej Pogačar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tadej Pogačar prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 34 played minutes Decathlon Dudes got a freekick which was hit by Mauro Mendebal. After 39 played minutes KFC Cromvelde got a freekick which was hit by Cosmin Contra. Decathlon Dudes's Tadej Pogačar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dieter Denys in the 42nd minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

A sloppy throw-in by Timo Venema in the 51st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by KFC Cromvelde's Karl-Heinz Kaltz. With a little luck, KFC Cromvelde's Jean-Louis Van Bever got control of the ball when Anthon Melin tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jean-Louis Van Bever made an important save on a dangerous shot by Anthon Melin in the 52nd minute. After 64 minutes Decathlon Dudes's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Cosmin Contra who took care of the corner kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Costin Moisil got free with Jean-Louis Van Bever in the 75th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anthon Melin helped the player get up and apologised. Tadej Pogačar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dé 武松, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute.
