But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Silviu Dumitrana couldn't finish the play. In the 11th minute of the match, Mugur Ceaușescu tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Jan-Åke Emander saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Gino Galante sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Felix Leahu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ubarna Harroyo in the 16th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in The Owls's zone, Traian Brăiloiu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jan-Åke Emander came out of the goal and Traian Brăiloiu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

In the 51st minute Silviu Dumitrana shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jan-Åke Emander saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Felix Leahu had great luck who in the 59thth minute grab hold of the ball when Ubarna Harroyo from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. After a rather tough play, F.C. YKE's Duman Enginsoy got a free kick in the 93rd minute. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched The Owls eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
