Jonathan Sammut blasted a shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Wilson Amorim having to make a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Jonathan Sammut in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Wilson Amorim saved Portugal from getting behind. Viriato Moura scored 0-1 in the 30th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of André Courtois, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When Jonathan Sammut came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Templars FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jonathan Sammut couldn't finish the play. If Jonathan Sammut had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 37th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 39th minute, one of Portugal:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Portugal. Portugal:s Wilson Amorim showed great skill when he stopped Jonathan Sammut:s penalty. 40 minutes into the match, Jonathan Sammut notched a goal, 1-1, to the right of Portugal's Wilson Amorim. Wilson Amorim was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jonathan Sammut got free with Wilson Amorim in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 46 minutes, Daniel Pimentel mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Portugal and the Templars FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Jonathan Sammut kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Wilson Amorim. That made the score 2-1 in the 48 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Jonathan Sammut made a kick off. In the 53rd minute, Osvaldo Alvarenga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 55 minutes into the game, Templars FC's Adelino Marques nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. André Courtois stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felipe Barreto's shot from short distance in the 58th minute. When Felipe Barreto came up free with the goalie in the 60th minute, the Portugal fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felipe Barreto couldn't finish the play. 70 minutes into the match, Portugal's goal looked a bit too open when Staffan Apelqvist came free, but Wilson Amorim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Wilson Amorim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Staffan Apelqvist, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. Fabricio Andrade received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. André Courtois tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. Portugal's Felipinho Amorim was substituted for Felipe Barreto. Felipinho Amorim sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice moves Felipinho Amorim could shoot a difficult shot in the 76th minute, which André Courtois however easily saved by the left post. 91 minutes into the match, Fabricio Andrade dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of André Courtois, 3-3. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, André Courtois successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
