The Castanheiro SC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Portugal were winning 1-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Robben Spoelberchs made a kick off. If Robben Spoelberchs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. Wilson Amorim came out of the goal and Daniel Romero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 65 minutes, Gilberto Lopes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Castanheiro SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gilberto Lopes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Portugal made a substitution. Bartolomeu Dias replaced Viriato Moura. Manfredo Quirino struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Castanheiro SC. The supporters of Castanheiro SC booed when Portugal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raul Caetano didn't get a good kick on the ball. Igor Ilyin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Wilson Amorim read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. After taking down the ball on Castanheiro SC's corner Alfredo Stefano fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Wilson Amorim quite easily take care of the ball. Wilson Amorim stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Robben Spoelberchs's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. Graciano Coutinho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 90th minute of the match, but Wincent Dropinski made a huge save. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robben Spoelberchs in the 92nd minute of play. In the 93rd minute Bartolomeu Dias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wincent Dropinski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gilberto Lopes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Portugal players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Castanheiro SC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
