The crowd rose to their feet as Saturn Świętochłowice's Eugeniusz Golota slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Fabio Auer. Bogdan Spychalski showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sandro Galishoff, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Saturn Świętochłowice's zone, Marvin Harrer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bogdan Spychalski breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Saturn Świętochłowice's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
