King Junior showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edward Vanderstraeten, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the match, Ionică Lucescu notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Belgium's Casper Claes. Casper Claes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Casper Claes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ionică Lucescu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Liviu Cristocea in the 30th minute of play forced Belgium's goalkeeper Casper Claes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Edward Vanderstraeten sped through Kobra TEAM's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of King Junior. After some fancy dribbling in the 41st minute, Simon Sabbe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Belgium's supporters rose to their feet, but Simon Sabbe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. King Junior breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Edward Vanderstraeten was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Edward Vanderstraeten got free with King Junior in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort.
