But to his dismay, Yavuz Selim Elmastaş quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. A sloppy throw-in by Anıl Arda Sefik in the 9th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Serbia's Borjan Golubovic. Rasko Nestorovski hit a great freekick 10 minutes into the match. sirince's Enginsu Özal got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zivko Cvetkovic kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. A collision led to sirince getting a freekick after 23 minutes play. Yavuz Selim Elmastaş hit a great ball. Enginsu Özal fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zvezdan Nedeljkovic having to interfere. After 36 played minutes, Serbia's Borjan Golubovic shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Denizhan Onatkan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Serbia reached it. After a rather tough play, Serbia's Zivko Cvetkovic got a free kick in the 43rd minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enginsu Özal in the 44th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zvezdan Nedeljkovic saved Serbia from getting behind. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

In the 68th minute, Yavuz Selim Elmastaş left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The sirince fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-0. Momir Gisic hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Enginsu Özal received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Zvezdan Nedeljkovic tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
