Vicente Merino's late challenge caught a FFC Merainies 03's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vicente Merino helped the player get up and apologised. In the 3rd match minute, Spain was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vicente Merino to maneuver through the defense. Łukasz Zwolinski might have been able to make a better finish in the 4th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Gabriel Ascaso. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Łukasz Zwolinski ran back to his position shaking his head. Gabriel Ascaso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Łukasz Zwolinski in the 6th minute of the match. 6 minutes in the game, Łukasz Zwolinski dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. David Aranda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu having to interfere. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Adria Bielsa in the 11th minute of play. After 13 minutes, Fabio Botello mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FFC Merainies 03 and the Spain players grew even worse after the yellow card. Fabio Botello hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. 14 minutes into the match, FFC Merainies 03's goal looked a bit too open when Omar Toledo came free, but Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FFC Merainies 03's Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Enrique Rabellino in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th minute of the match, Zé Pedro Montana got a very nice opportunity to score, but Gabriel Ascaso was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Fabio Botello made a great header on FFC Merainies 03's corner, it was just that Spain's Gabriel Ascaso managed to reach the ball for a save. David Aranda received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Łukasz Zwolinski in the 35th minute of play forced Spain's goalkeeper Gabriel Ascaso to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 36 minutes Spain's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Fabio Botello who took care of the corner kick. In the 38th minute Łukasz Zwolinski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gabriel Ascaso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Łukasz Zwolinski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Gabriel Ascaso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 42nd minute, Enrique Rabellino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adria Bielsa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Zé Pedro Montana was the one to do the kick off. But to his dismay, Łukasz Zwolinski quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Zé Pedro Montana sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Łukasz Zwolinski in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Gabriel Ascaso saved Spain from getting behind. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adria Bielsa, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. Spain made a substitution. Carles Cherro replaced Omar Toledo. In the 68th minute Spain were awarded a corner. Adria Bielsa went to the cornerflag to take it. Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu made an important save on a dangerous shot by Enrique Rabellino in the 69th minute. FFC Merainies 03's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Pedro Montana was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gabriel Ascaso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 80 minutes into the match, Adria Bielsa dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu, 2-2. In the 86th minute of the match Spain got a corner. FFC Merainies 03's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Jon Cubero ran over to the corner to take the kick. In the 89th minute of the match, Sergio Ruiz tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Rıdvan İbrahimoğlu saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Carles Cherro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
