In the 18th minute, Inter de Monte Grande fc's Amancio Brion ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Khalid Kennedy. Khalid Kennedy yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. After 22 minutes, Benedicto Lastur mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Inter de Monte Grande fc and the England players grew even worse after the yellow card. Benedicto Lastur kicked well hit freekick during the 22nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Kyle Cox in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Leon Avellaneda saved Inter de Monte Grande fc from getting behind. Leon Avellaneda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Micah Macdonald, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caelan Hayes hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. Eddie Willis's late challenge caught a Inter de Monte Grande fc's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Eddie Willis helped the player get up and apologised. After 27 played minutes England got a freekick which was hit by Eddie Willis. After recieving a nice pass, Inter de Monte Grande fc's Elpidio Malvin tried to score from far away in the 28th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 31st minute Kyle Cox shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Leon Avellaneda saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Leon Avellaneda took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Seth Young, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute, Issac Dawson made a precise shot to the right of Leon Avellaneda. Inter de Monte Grande fc's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Malvin in the 42nd minute of play forced England's goalkeeper Khalid Kennedy to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Inter de Monte Grande fc's goal looked a bit too open when Micah Macdonald came free, but Leon Avellaneda reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Kyle Cox had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After the first half England were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.
