The crowd rose to their feet as Göpsen FC's Tibor Berkes slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Tommy Kahn. That made the score 1-0 after 11 minutes of play. Yunus Canver fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Kahn having to interfere. In the 18th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Aytekin Hicab saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Frank Sachs had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 27 minutes, Tibor Berkes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Göpsen FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tibor Berkes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 30 minutes Göpsen FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Frank Sachs who took care of the corner kick. Göpsen FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tibor Berkes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tibor Berkes charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Tibor Berkes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 47th play minute Tibor Berkes came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Tommy Kahn. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Frank Sachss short, quick shot in the 54thth minute got Aytekin Hicab to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Frank Sachs had several of the Göpsen FC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 54 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 2-2 score and a disappointed Aytekin Hicab as he didn't even see the shot coming. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tibor Berkes in the 59th minute of play. In the 65th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Albin Holweck to maneuver through the defense. Tibor Berkes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When Chris Mergenthaler fell near the penalty area in the 71st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Germany's protests and gave Chris Mergenthaler a yellow card for diving instead. After 70 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Germany! The referee gave Göpsen FC a penalty, 72 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by İlmi Birsel, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Germany's Tommy Kahn. 3-2. 76 minutes into the game, Göpsen FC's Bengt Fredriksson nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tommy Kahn made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-2. 80 minutes into the match, Göpsen FC's goal looked a bit too open when Albin Holweck came free, but Aytekin Hicab reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Tibor Berkes managed to get in a good position for a shot. Göpsen FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Tibor Berkes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommy Kahn breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vahdet Canbolat in the 94th minute of the match. Göpsen FC's Vahdet Canbolat got a good chance for a goal in the 96th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Janik Vogt hit a great freekick 97 minutes into the match.
