The crowd rose to their feet as Remigio Unax kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tommy Kahn. That made the score 1-0 in the 13 minute of play. In the 16th minute Remigio Unax shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommy Kahn saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Remigio Unax in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Tommy Kahn prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Germany's Adrian Dreifuss quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Vehdi Uğurel, made in the 22nd minute of the game. Germany's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Remigio Unax 24 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. Tommy Kahn made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Remigio Unax sent off a good shot on target. After 33 minutes, Vehdi Uğurel mouthed his way into the referee's book. Vehdi Uğurel was shown his second yellow card after 39 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kauan Lenzi stepped up to make the kick off in the second half.
