The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Azul Y Plomo's Chiriboga Torres got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Zacarias Cabrero showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bartolomeu Dias, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. Wilson Amorim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from José Macías, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th match minute, Portugal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniel Pimentel to maneuver through the defense. Portugal's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
