Arnout Reekers showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bror Nordstedt, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. In the 23rd minute Bror Nordstedt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaaf Groeneveldt in the 31st minute of play forced Dark Prophets's goalkeeper Geronimo Argi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bror Nordstedt in the 38th minute of play forced Netherlands's goalkeeper Arnout Reekers to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bror Nordstedt in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arnout Reekers saved Netherlands from getting behind. Geronimo Argi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 40th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gijsbert ter Kruimer in the 43rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Geronimo Argi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Netherlands were awarded a corner in the 44th minute after Dark Prophets's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Gijsbert ter Kruimer took the corner. It was a well-played corner which Lars Meesters managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Arnout Reekers made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eduard Trifan in the 47th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Geronimo Argi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Narcis Pomuț kicked well hit freekick during the 55th minute of the match. In the 56th minute, Lars Meesters fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. The Dark Prophets fans' excitement grew in the 58th match minute when Dark Prophets's Costică Bălace looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 61st minute Costică Bălace shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Netherlands's Arnout Reekers played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bror Nordstedt in the 63rd minute of play. Dark Prophets's Zhao Chao Ling was substituted for Narcis Pomuț. A collision led to Netherlands getting a freekick after 65 minutes play. Wim Wilmes hit a great ball. Geronimo Argi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gijsbert ter Kruimer, who was totally free with the ball in the 68th minute. Gustaaf Groeneveldt could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Geronimo Argi made a huge save. Dark Prophets's Dorin Maleș was substituted for Sabin Verzeanu. In the 78th minute Netherlands were awarded a corner. Gijsbert ter Kruimer went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 84th minute, Bror Nordstedt ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Arnout Reekers was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-1. Bror Nordstedt took the ball and in the 92 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Arnout Reekers. Arnout Reekers dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-1. When the referee blew the final whistle, Dark Prophets could leave the field as winners, despite Netherlands having more of the ball for most of the match.
